Workshop at Ionian University

The Workshop at Ionian University on the 23rd of January was organized within the goals and objectives of WP2: BIOSHIELD Curriculum.

The workshop was performed at the Department of Food Science and Technology, in Argostoli, Kefalonia, in hybrid form with numerous participants, hosted and chaired by Associate Professor Nikolaos Kopsahelis.

The workshop was structured in four sessions to cover the objectives of BIOSHIELD program, whereas each session was initiated with a discussion session to allow for participants to share their opinions and engage in a collaborative discussion. Discussion was directed on climate change and its global impact, how to leverage biotechnology to mitigate climate change whereas specific focus was placed on the sustainability of food systems and how it can be enhanced.

Subsequently, the host posed a series of structured questions prompting participants to respond thoughtfully and provide a more detailed feedback for each session that will be further implemented during the development of the curriculum and other activities of BIOSHIELD.

The participants in the workshop comprised a diversified consortium including academics, industrial partners, members of scientific committees and students (all educational levels) to foster a reflective dialogue and gather insightful feedback.
