On 20 May 2026, the BIOSHIELD Erasmus+ Project Conference was successfully held at the ÇOBİLTUM facilities of Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University, bringing together researchers, academics, industry representatives, and young participants around a common focus: the role of biotechnology in building a more sustainable future.
The conference featured several sessions exploring innovative biotechnology-based solutions to address climate change, sustainable agriculture, and emerging biotechnology applications. Particular attention was given to the critical role of higher education in supporting innovation, developing new approaches, and preparing future generations to respond to global environmental challenges.
The event provided a valuable platform for exchanging knowledge, discussing emerging research, and strengthening connections between academia and industry. Presentations, questions, and discussions contributed to a dynamic exchange of ideas, highlighting the potential of biotechnology to address some of the most pressing challenges facing society and the environment.
The conference also brought together young participants interested in science, innovation, and sustainability, creating opportunities for them to engage with researchers and explore the possibilities offered by biotechnology.
The successful event marked another important step in strengthening international collaboration within the BIOSHIELD project and promoting biotechnology-based approaches for a more sustainable future.
